To honour the space between
No longer…not yet.

FROM HERE TO THERE is a series of twenty mixed media collage paintings of rural or urban landscapes from memory and imagination, that investigate the places and spaces between two points of existence. A space between departure and destination. This gap is referred to as the “liminal space”…a place that is left behind and the place not yet arrived.

This year’s pandemic “shut downs” and “restrictions” have created such a transitional space. A new collective perspective has been created; a new vision of seeing and being, allowing us to respond rather than react, to be proactive rather than reactive. It is in the gaps that we find this freedom.

The connective thread that holds these twenty artworks together is their poetic point of view of space and time. They explore the infinite possibilities of human movement between these spaces of image, colour, shape and line. Each collage painting has another layer added with haiku poetry, suggesting this poetic point of view.
